Obituary of John Lamp Belfance

John Lamp Belfance 52, of Fonda, NY, died early Wednesday in Columbus, Ga. as the result of a homicide. Born in Fonda where he resided his entire life, he was the son of Dee Lamp Belfance and the late Frank Belfance. He was a 1972 graduate of Fonda Fultonville Central School and then began his long career as a trucker, the last eleven years with C.V. Holdings LLC. John was proud of the fact that he had clocked over five million miles during his career. He was a fan of drag racing and tractor pulling. His loving family includes his children; John L. II and his wife Tina Belfance of Amsterdam, Justin Belfance of Atlanta, Ga., Joshua Belfance of Concord, No. Carolina and Jenna Belfance of So. Carolina; a grandson; Jacob Belfance; his mother; Dee Belfance of Vanceboro, No. Carolina; brothers; Charles Belfance of Florida and Frank Belfance of Vanceboro; sister; Bonnie Belfance of Schenectady as well as nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate his life will take place on Wednesday at 11:00 am at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street Fultonville. The Rev. Christopher DeGraaf officiating. Calling hours are Tuesday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Viewland Cemetery, Schenectady. Contributions may be made to the Camp Hole In The Woods in care of the funeral home office.
