Obituary of Thomas G. De Maria

Mr. Thomas G. De Maria, 76, of James Street, passed away early Wednesday morning at the Fulton County RHCF following a long illness. Born on November 18, 1930 in Manhattan, he was the son of the late Jerry and Theresa De Maria. He was educated in New York City and moved to Amsterdam in 1950. Thomas worked for the City of Amsterdam Department of Public Works for a time, retiring in year in 1992. Survivors include his wife, the former Helen Friello, whom he married 56 years ago on June 2, 1951; two daughters, Victoria De Maria and Nancy Krutz, both of Amsterdam; one brother, Dominick De Maria and his wife Donna of New Jersey; two grandchildren, Clifford Smith Jr. and Jason Krutz; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Montgomery County, SPCA, PO Box 484, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
