Obituary of Francesco Galluccio

Francesco Frank Galluccio, 97, of Bunn Street Amsterdam and Victoria, Australia, passed away Monday in Australia after a brief illness. Born in Varapodio, Reggio Calabria, Italy on April 2, 1910 he immigrated to Australia where he resided for many years. Following the death of his first wife, Angelina Taverna Galluccio in 1989, he married the former Caterina Sinicropi in 1992. He and Catherine alternated living in Amsterdam and Australia during the warmer months. His good health allowed him to enjoy gardening and quality family time until recently. Frank was a member of several senior?s groups both here and in Australia and enjoyed playing cards and bingo. His loving family includes his wife Caterina Catherine Sinicropi Galluccio of Amsterdam and Australia; children in Australia; Frances and Joe Russo, Joseph and Carmel Galluccio, Carmella and Joseph Piccolo, Mary and Phillip Gallucci, seventeen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; in America he is survived by step children, Mary Jobin of Amsterdam, Carmen and Rosalind Sinicropi of Amsterdam , Vincent and Lorraine Sinicropi of Columbus, Ohio, Joseph and Patricia Sinicropi of Broadalbin, Frances Phillips of Amsterdam and Elizabeth Sinicropi of Ballston Spa.; fifteen grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings, Frandinanno, Gillanni, Grazia and Francesca who were twins, and Rosa. A Rosary and Mass will be offered in St. John?s Parish in Victoria, Australia on Monday. Interment will follow in Cheltenham Memorial Park in Cheltenham, Victoria. Locally, relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass which will be con-celebrated Saturday, August 18th at 9:15 am at St. Michael The Archangel Church, Grove Street, Amsterdam. Frs. Pascal Iannotti and Victor Polito, celebrants. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Michael?s Memorial Fund, or St. Jude?s Children?s Hospital both in care of the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue.
