Obituary of Raymond O. Cortes

Mr. Raymond O. Cortes, 20 years old, of East Main Street, Amsterdam, died Monday as the result of an automobile accident. Mr. Cortes was born November 12, 1986 in Cleveland, Ohio, a son of Jose R. and Aurea Cruz Rivera Cortes. He lived in Haverhill, Massachusetts for several years before moving to Amsterdam in 2001. Mr. Cortes was employed by Angelica Textle Corp. in Ballston Spa at the time of his death. He was a member of Iglesia Ministerios Unidos Shalom Church in Massachusetts. Raymond enjoyed playing and listening to his music.Survivors in addition to his parents are: his maternal grandmother Aurea L. Rivera and his paternal grandmother Carmen I. Agosto, both of Puerto Rico; his fiancé Luz M Hernandez of Amsterdam; his son Keyon J. Hernandez of Amsterdam: his daughter Zurisatai Cortes of Amsterdam; his brother Emmanual Cortes of Amsterdam; his sister Ymalai Cortes of Amsterdam and many aunts, uncles and cousins.Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday at the Church of God, 231 East Main Street, Amsterdam. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 4 until 8:00pm at the Church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home.
