Obituary of Anneliese Streicher Tokarowski Vickery
Anneliese Streicher Tokarowski Vickery, 84, passed away at her home on August 13, 2007.
Anne was born in Stuttgart, Germany on November 9, 1922, the daughter of Eugenie Menko and Paul Streicher. She moved to the United States in 1927 and lived in Gloversville for the rest of her life. She retired from a career in teaching in 1988.
Anne was a member of the Kingsborough Garden Club and the First Congregational United Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband, Donald Vickery; her loving children, Rylee Tokarowski Servis and son-in-law Keith of Clifton Park, and Paul Tokarowski and daughter-in-law Lori of Holden, MA; stepsons David Vickery Mary and Matthew Vickery Lisa of Gloversville; and grandchildren Lexy and Courtney Servis, John, Julie and Elizabeth Tokarowski, and Alex and Jennifer Vickery. Anne is also survived by her sister, Ruth Streicher Beede and brother-in-law George, of Webster, NY, several nieces and nephews, and her dear friends from the Garden Club and church.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Anne?s life at a memorial service at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 31 East Fulton Street, Gloversville, on Thursday August 16 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Anne?s memory to the Kingsboro Garden Club, or any organization dedicated to the cure and treatment of breast cancer.
