Obituary of Martha M. Chamberlain

Mrs. Martha M. Reynolds Chamberlain, age 85 of Gloversville, died Saturday evening, August 18, 2007 at Mountain Valley Hospice, Gloversville. She was born August 3, 1922 in Mayfield, the daughter of the late Charles and Margie Wilson Reynolds. A graduate of Mayfield Central School, she was a resident of Mayfield for most of her life. Martha was employed at various area glove shops over the years and then worked for Coleco Industries in Mayfield for twenty years, retiring in 1988. Mrs. Chamberlain enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and also collected porcelain China Dolls and angels. She was married on July 28, 1962 to Roger B. Chamberlain who died October 13, 1976. She is survived by a daughter, Rose A. VanNostrand Kevin of Johnstown; a brother, Duane Reynolds Barbara of Northville; a sister, Joyce Goodbread of Johnstown; five grandchildren, Laura Hayes fiancee Jim, Michael Hayes fiancée Racheal, William Hayes Jr; fiancée Candace, Tamara VanNostrand and Korlena VanNostrand; three great-grandchildren, Zachary Hayes, Summer Collison and Nicholas Chamberlain; an aunt, Florence Wilson of Edinburgh; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Scott. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Monday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville. A graveside service will be held at 11 am Tuesday at King Northampton Cemetery, Northville, with the Rev. Cynthia J. VanAllen officiating.
