Obituary of Carolyn Jean Batchum

Carolyn Jean Batchum, 74, of Gloversville, entered into eternal rest Wednesday evening, August 22, 2007 following a long illness. She was a resident of Mountain Valley Hospice for several months. She enjoyed her time there. She was born January 31, 1933, daughter of the late Percy and Florence Baird. She attended Gloversville High School. She was employed at Continental Mills for several years and then worked for Johnstown Knitting Mills, retiring in 1997. Carolyn enjoyed her family and friends and the time she spent visiting at Wal-Mart. She was married on September 14, 1974. Survivors include her husband, Stanley M. Batchum; two daughters: Storm L. William Cross, Gale M. Alvin Dence; two brothers, Percy predeceased by Alta and Larry Carol Baird; four grandchildren: April Hart, William Staci Cross, Jr., Brandon Dana Cross, Amanda Cross; ten great-grandchildren: Dustin Hart, Shane and Alexandra Ward, Alicia and Jacob Cross, Deacon and Lillian Cross, Alexandria Shaffer, Isabell and Abigail Embree and Step Great Grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, August 24 at Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home on Fremont Street in Gloversville. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 25 at 11 am with interment at Ferndale Cemetery.
