Obituary of Catherine Hunt

Catherine J. Hunt 95, formerly of Pawling Street, Hagaman, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning at the River Ridge Living Center.Born in Amsterdam on March 12, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Asa and Lena McCullough Drake. Educated locally, she lived in this area most of her life with the exception of several years in the Buffalo area.Catherine was employed by the Broadalbin School District?s cafeteria for a time, and after her return from Buffalo, she worked in the office of the Fulmont News Company. She was a faithful and one of the oldest members of the Hagaman United Methodist Church.Her husband Vincent J. Hunt predeceased her in 1955. In 1983, she lost her only child, her son David. Also, her brothers, Harry, Richard and Robert Drake have passed away.Her loving family includes her sisters; Lorraine O?Brien of Minaville, and Gertrude Pharo of Tuckerton, N.J., as well as nieces and nephews.A service to celebrate her long life will take place Friday morning at 10:00 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue. The Rev. Cynthia Leonard will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited. It was Catherine?s request that there be no prior calling hours. Interment is in the Hagaman Cemetery. Contributions may be made in her memory to the United Methodist Church of Hagaman, or the Hagaman Volunteer Fire Dept. , all in care of the funeral home office.
