Obituary of Rene C. Barrera Bayes

Mrs. Rene C. Barrera Bayes, 37, of Chapman Drive, Amsterdam, passed away peacefully Thursday evening August 23, 2007 at St. Mary?s Hospital with her loving family at her side. Born in Amsterdam, NY on April 29, 1970 a daughter of the late Armando Barrera and Kathleen J. Kavanaugh Barrera. She was a lifelong Amsterdam resident and was a 1988 graduate of Amsterdam High School. Rene was employed by Amsterdam Memorial Hospital in the Dietary Department. She then took a position in Medical Records at the Hospital. She also worked at the former Switch General Store & Deli in Fultonville, the Americas Best Cleaning Service in Gloversville and Living Resources in Schenectady. Rene was last employed at the 67 Super Stop in Amsterdam until becoming a homemaker in April of 2005. Rene was of the Roman Catholic Faith. She was a volunteer at many PTO functions & field trips at the Marie Curie Institute in Amsterdam. She is survived by her loving family which includes her husband Ron Bayes of Amsterdam whom she married on August 12, 1995. Her beloved daughter, Logan Christine Bayes of Amsterdam. Her dear brother, Armando ?Mondy? Barrera D?Ette of Amsterdam. Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, In-Laws and cousins. She is also survived by her Best Friend, Cheryl Simpson and her family. Many other friends also survive. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday August 28, 2007 at 11:00A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY with Father James Gulley presiding. Interment will be is St. Casimir?s Cemetery, Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to a special fund to be established for her daughter Logan?s College Education.
