Obituary of Monique Ruller

Monique ?Tante? Ruller died Friday, August 24, 2007 at age 91. She was born on October 29, 1916 to Raoul and Bella Sauvageau Vallieres in Three Rivers, Quebec, Canada. She moved to Gloversville in 1926. She graduated from Gloversville High School in 1935 and was also a graduate of the Gloversville Business School. Early in life, Monique worked as a bookkeeper for City National Bank. She worked for 39 years as a bookkeeper and office manager of the Fulton County Silk Mills. She also worked as a part-time bookkeeper for Maider and Smith for 10 years before she retired in 1990. Monique was a very active member of Sacred Heart Church in Gloversville. She was a member of the Rosary Society, Couples Club, Catholic Daughters of America and the Ida McGinnis Senior Citizens Club. She was a summer communicant of the Auriesville Shrine. She and her husband both loved the Shrine and the spiritual experience it gave to them. She also enjoyed traveling. ?Tante? was a wonderful grandmother and aunt who loved life. She was predeceased by her husband, Burt Ruller, whom she married October 23, 1971. Survivors include two stepsons: John Ruller of Gloversville and Robert Ruller of Rochester, four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one niece: Linda Fisher of Worcester, NY, two nephews: Rene Vallieres of Adams, NY and David Vallieres of Utica, grand nieces and nephews, great grand nieces and nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by a grandson, Jonathan Ruller, a brother, Rene Vallieres and a sister-in-law Jean Patten Vallieres. A prayer service will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church at 12 noon, Thursday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the prayer service. Burial will be at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
