Obituary of Eleanor Spagnola
Eleanor Spagnola, 87, of Lake Road, passed away Saturday morning at St. Mary?s Hospital.
Born in Detroit, Michigan on April 14, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Teofilia Denza Levandosky. She came to this area as a child and has resided here since. A home maker, she was a communicant of St. Stephen?s Roman Catholic Church in Hagaman.
Eleanor loved to read, and she and her husband enjoyed traveling together. Most enjoyable for her was being with her family, especially her husband of sixty years, daughter, granddaughters and most recently her great grandchildren.
On July 13, 1947, she was united in marriage to Anthony Spagnola.
In addition to her beloved husband, she leaves her daughter; Adrienne E. and her husband George Posner of Ithaca, NY, granddaughters; Prema and her husband Jamil Wayland, and Rebecca and her husband Nathan Christian; great grandchildren; Eleanor Wayland, and George and Thomas Christian; brother; William Levandosky of Niskayuna; sisters; Helen Levandosky, Ceil Smitka and Genevieve LaRowe, all of Amsterdam; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial which will take place Wednesday at 11:00 am at St. Stephen?s Church in Hagaman with Fr. Ronald Matulewicz, celebrant. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Calling hours are private. Contributions may be made in her name to the Galway Vol. Ambulance Corps. in care of the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, 12010.
