Obituary of Carl L. Abeling

Carl L. Abeling, 81, of McKinley Road, Palatine Bridge, NY died early Sunday morning at St. Mary?s Hospital in Amsterdam following a long illness. Born on September 26, 1925 in Canajoharie he was the son of the late Lester and Katherine Duffey Abeling. He was a lifelong area resident and attended local schools. Carl owned and operated Abeling?s Garage in Canajoharie for many years. He also was employed for Central National Bank as a courier for a time. He was of the Roman Catholic faith and was a member of the CB Club. He was predeceased by one sister, Caroline Conrad and two brothers, James and Thomas Abeling. His loving family includes his wife, the former Evelyn Rouse; two daughters, Brenda Moore of Gloversville and Debra Eckler of Canajoharie; two sons, Gregory Abeling and his wife Jodie of Milton, FL, Brandall Abeling and his wife Justina of Ft. Plain; one sister Catherine Frasier and her husband Miles of Palatine Bridge; one brother, Robert Abeling of Amsterdam; a special niece, Virginia Spencer Wilson; and several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, September 13, 2007 at 10:00a.m. at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Sandflats, Fonda. Calling hours will be held Wednesday evening, September 12, 2007, from 4 until 7 at the funeral home.
