Obituary of Dorothy M. Brower
Dorothy M. Brower died Thursday, September 13, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 7, 1925 in Hudson Falls, New York to the late Peter H. and Fannie R. McDonald Bridge. She was educated in Pinehurst, MA and moved to Gloversville in 1942. She received her G.E.D. in 1968. Dorothy attended Fulton Montgomery Community College in the 1970?s where she received her clerk/typist certificate. She was the insurance and attendance clerk in the business office of the Gloversville Enlarged School District for 14 years.
Dorothy was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Gloversville. She was also a member of both the VFW # 2077 Auxiliary and the Nick Stoner Seniors in Caroga Lake. She enjoyed arts and crafts, knitting, crocheting and oil painting.
She married Roland J. Brower on October 6, 1946; he passed away in 1968.
Survivors include three daughters: Cheryl A. Rongo Daniel P. of Lockport, New York, Diane L. Brosat Steven A. of Gloversville and Suzanne M. Wright William R. of Northville; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited and may call Friday, September 14, from 4-7 pm at Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. A prayer service will be held at 9:15 am at the funeral home on Saturday, September 14 followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Church, Gloversville. Burial will follow at Mayfield Union Rural Cemetery. The family has requested donations in lieu of flowers to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville 12078 or Sacred Heart Church, 189 Kingsboro Avenue, Gloversville 12078.
