Obituary of John D. Haberek

John D. Haberek, 42, of Amsterdam, NY died peacefully Saturday evening. Born on February 18, 1965 in Amsterdam, he was the son of the late Daniel and Barbara Strazewski Haberek. He was a lifelong area resident and was a 1983 graduate of Amsterdam High School. John worked in many capacities over the years. He worked in his family?s business, H & H Dairy for a time, as well as Mohawk Dairy and Noteworthy. Most recently he had been working for Fiberglass Industries. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his children, Kayla and Daniel Haberek; his sister, Kelly Wolf of Northville; his brother, David Haberek and sister in law, Leigh of Amsterdam; his nephews, J.D. and Matt Haberek; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at 7p.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, with the Rev. Pascal Iannotti officiating. A calling period will be held from 5 until 7 prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a fund for his children?s education in care of the funeral home office.
