Obituary of Mary Madej
Mary R. Madej, 91, of McQuade Road, passed away Sunday morning at Albany Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born in Amsterdam on November 6, 1915, she was the daughter of Paul and Concetta DiCaprio Parillo. Educated locally, she lived here her entire life. Mary was employed as a seamstress
first at Chalmers Manufacturing, and later in the same capacity for Amsterdam Glove Company.
She was a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church and was a member of the Inman Seniors. She was predeceased by her first husband Edward DiDonna, and also her son, Edward L. DiDonna in 2001. On November 1, 1958, she married Joseph Madej. He passed away on Sept. 9, 2006.
Her loving family includes her grandchildren; Edward F. DiDonna, Robert J. DiDonna, Cheryl Shapiro and Lawrence DiDonna; brothers; Ralph Rita Parillo of Amsterdam, Anthony Parillo of Amsterdam,
Carl Connie Parillo of Schenectady and John Parillo of Arizona; her sister; Caroline Frank Stellato of Amsterdam; six great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services are Thursday at 8:15 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by the Mass Of Christian Burial which will be offered at 9:15 am at Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel Church. Fr. Pascal A. Iannotti, celebrant. Interment will follow in the Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery, Saratoga. Calling hours are Wednesday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Montgomery County Office Of The Aging, in care of the funeral home office.
