Bob and Bill served together in the Air Force at Offutt AFB. We spent many hours and a few nickels drinking imported beer at an Irish pub, the Dubliner. Bob "filled his card" by sampling each of the 100s of varieties. This earned him a plaque on the wall. It is still there today. He also helped me drink my way to a plaque by drinking all the stouts for me.
Bob was a kind and gentle person. He had a great, dry sense of humor. He taught Bill and I to think outside our Midwestern perspective - for which we are both thankful.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends. He talked fondly of his family to us and his Christmas cards were always filled with curling news. Obviously, you all meant a great deal to him.

I met Bob in Biloxi, MS when we entered the same tech school program in the Air Force. His talent was obvious and his amusement at my misplacement in the same program equally obvious! He tried so hard to teach me boolean this and that, spending free time to tutor me. Twenty years have passed since we sat in that classroom in MS and I was thrilled when Bob told me about Sandy and the girls. He was so happy. I am beyond sad that he did not have more time to enjoy his new family. He will be missed.

I was shocked and saddened to read the news of Bob's passing. His first job at Xerox was working with me, and I will always remember his polite, quiet, gentle nature. He was a hard worker, and as a previous writer noted, Bob could be trusted to do a great job on whatever task he was assigned. Sharing common interests in several areas, I always enjoyed hearing about the latest progress on the construciton of his Uncle's house/cottage. Although I haven't seen Bob in a few years, I've always considered him a friend, and was just thinking about him recently. I will miss him. My condolences to all his loved ones, and if there is anything I can do, just ask.

We just read of Bob's passing in the Sunday paper. We are so sorry for your loss. If there is anything at all we can do for you, Faye, please call on us. We understand your loss and know that it will take a very long time for the hurt to even start to fade. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

My very deepest sympathy to Bob's family. Bob was always such a gentle and kind person. I haven't seen him in quite awhile as I am a past member of the Rochester Curling Club. May wonderful memories of your time together be with you always...

As the shockwaves of the news of Bob?s death ran threw the Rochester Curling Club?s membership, our thoughts turned to Sandra, John and the rest of Bob?s family. Bob was a wonderful curler, friend and volunteer at the RCC. On the ice, Bob was a great teammate who always took the time to help out newer members. He was wonderful at explaining the game and loved reading the ice and watching for the stone to start to curl. Off the ice, Bob participated in many of our social events. His cookies were always a big hit at our Christmas Party. Bob?s generosity will always be remembered around the club. His carpentry skills are evident in the special drawers and carts he made to help make kitchen duty easier. We will always be grateful for Sandra and Bob taking so much time to rebuild the walkways including routing out 72 holes for the pipes on each end. As one member described him, "He was the behind the scenes guy who you could always count on. If you asked him to do something, you always knew it would get done." We have missed Bob the past two seasons as he left to spend more time with Sandra and the girls. Looking back what a great choice. We will continue to miss Bob but will always remember him as a kind gentle soul who enriched our lives by knowing him.
