Obituary of Vincenzina M. Singer
Mrs. Vincenzina M. Singer, 97 years old, of Manny Corners Road, died Friday at Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility where she had been a patient for the past two months. Mrs. Singer was born December 10, 1909 in Enfield, Connecticut, a daughter of Vincenzo and Concetta Schifano Lanza. She resided in Brooklyn and Queens until the 1970?s, before moving to Ormond Beach, Florida. Mrs. Singer moved to Amsterdam three years ago where she had since resided.
Mrs. Singer was a homemaker and was of the Roman Catholic Faith. She enjoyed her doll collection that numbered more than 500, and she enjoyed hooking rugs. Mrs. Singer played tennis in her youth.
On March 24, 1940 she married Philip Singer. He died September 15, 1997. She is survived by her son Daniel Laura Singer of Northville, NY, her daughter Constance Singer of NYC, her brother Joseph Lanza of Pasadena, CA, three sisters: Nina Klein of Woodland Hills, CA, Mary Costanza of Baldwin, NY, and Gina Lomolino of Clearwater, FL, three grandchildren: Mary Singer serving with the US Army in Iraq, Philip Linda Singer of Amsterdam and Kim Singer of Moorehead, NC, and her great grandson, Nathaniel Connor Singer. Mrs. Singer is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Funeral Mass will be held 9:00am Tuesday, September 25, 2007, at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church with The Rev. David Mickiewicz as Celebrant. There will be no calling period and cremation will follow the Mass at Vale Crematorium. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue. Memorial contributions may be made: St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
