Obituary of Andrew H. Cionek
Andrew H. Cionek, 54, of State Hwy 30, Mayfield, passed away unexpectedly Saturday September 22, 2007 at his home.
Born in Amsterdam on September 26, 1952 a son of Henry J. and Sonja LaGrange Cionek. He was a lifelong Montgomery and Fulton County resident. He was a 1970 Graduate of Amsterdam High School.
Mr. Cionek worked for many years as a Manager and Mechanic at Monroe Muffler Brake. He worked at various locations including, Johnstown, Gloversville, Saratoga and Amsterdam. Andrew also worked for Route 30 Auto in Vail Mills helping with the website for auto sales.
Mr. Cionek was an avid model airplane enthusiast. He built and maintained radio controlled model airplanes. He was a member of the Flying Aces Club, the Academy of Model Aeronautics and the Lazy Eight Radio Control Club. He was also member of St. Mary?s Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam.
He married Clara Cramer Cionek on June 15, 1975. In addition to his wife survivor?s include his Mother, Sonja LaGrange Cionek of Gloversville, NY. Two sons, Andrew Cionek Jr. of Amsterdam and Christopher Cionek of Johnstown, NY. Three brothers, Greg Cionek of Amsterdam, Thomas Cionek of Ft. Johnson, NY and Timothy Cionek of Arizona. Seven grandchildren, Gary, Mariah, Christopher Jr., Kayla, Clayton, Alyssa and David. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday September 27, 2007 at 5:00P.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday one hour prior to the funeral service beginning at 4:00P.M. at the funeral home.
