Obituary of Shirley J. Diodato

Mrs. Shirley J. Diodato, age 81 of Gloversville, died Thursday, September 27, 2007 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville. She was born February 27, 1926 in Johnstown, the daughter of the late Hubert and Mildred Abbott Ryall. A graduate of Gloversville High School, Shirley first worked at several glove shops in the area. She later became a cafeteria worker for the Gloversville Enlarged School District where she worked for many years. She enjoyed bowling for many years, and also loved to sketch and draw. She loved animals, particularly cats. Shirley was married in 1949 to Vito P. Diodato who survives. She is also survived by her son, David S. Diodato Chris Potter of Fort Plain; a granddaughter, Jada G. Diodato of Gloversville, and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carla Beth Diodato. A private service will take place on Monday at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the humane society of your choice. Arrangement are by Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville.
