Obituary of Evelyn Foggia

Evelyn Foggia, 58 of Woodrow Rd., passed away peacefully Friday evening at her home with her family at her side and her husband holding her hand. Born in Amsterdam on Sept. 30, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Ruth Martin Centerbar. Educated locally, Evelyn lived here her entire life. She was a self employed housekeeper until she retired. She was a parishioner of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church. Evelyn had a special love for animals, and they returned that love back to her. On Dec. 27, 1983, she was united in marriage to Arthur R. Foggia. In addition to her beloved husband, she leaves her children; son Philip Foggia of Amsterdam, step-daughter Gina Marie McNamara of Amsterdam and step son Anthony Foggia of Japan; grandchildren; Jessica Lee, Kristi Lynn, Stephanie Marie and Colin, sisters; Ethel Harold Mead of Amsterdam, Eloise Gugliemelli of Culpepper, Va., Esther Ilnicki and Elsie Muller both of Amsterdam, Emma Lyons of Syracuse and Morningstar Eva Jean Stone of Arkansas, nieces and nephews. Evelyn was predeceased by her brothers Ernie and Enos Centerbar. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass Of Christian Burial which will take place on Wednesday at 9:15 am at St. Mary?s Church. There are no calling hours and interment is at the convenience of the family. Contributions may be made to the Community Hospice Of Amsterdam, or the Montgomery County SPCA both in care of the funeral home office. Her family has entrusted her arrangements to the care of the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue.
