Obituary of Mary Pushkar

Mary Pushkar R.N., 91, formerly of Division Street, died September 28, 2007 at the Edward L. Wilkinson R.H.C.F. Born on July 18, 1916 in Amsterdam, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Tillie Puszkar. She was a lifelong area resident and attended local schools. She was a graduate of the FMCC Nursing Program and received her degree in 1972. Mary was employed as a pediatric ICU nurse for many years at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital. She also was employed as a supervisor at the Montgomery County Infirmary until her retirement in 1982. Her loving family includes her sister, Anne Gordon of Reseda, CA; a niece, Karen Pacillo of Amsterdam; several nieces and nephews in CA and two great nephews in Amsterdam. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be offered on Thursday, October 4, 2007 at 11:00a.m. at St. Mary?s Roman Catholic Church, 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam. Interment of cremated remains will follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Amsterdam Free Library, 28 Church Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010 or the charity of one?s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
