Obituary of Raymond J. Keosaian
Raymond J. Keosaian 76, of Fairmont Avenue, Amsterdam, passed away late Saturday evening at St. Mary?s Hospital.
Born in Albany NY on January 20, 1931, he was the son of the late Harry and Edith Terwilliger Keosaian. Educated in Saratoga Springs,
he lived in this area since 1953. Ray was a proud veteran and served with the US Army in Korea. Following his discharge, he worked for Mohasco Corporation for twenty years in it?s maintenance department and later in the same capacity for the Sanford Home For Women until he retired in 1993.
He was a member of the John J. Wyszomirski Post 701 American Legion and a former member of the PNA. Ray was a communicant of St. Stanislaus? Roman Catholic Church. An avid collector, he also enjoyed time spent fishing with his family. In earlier years, he along with his dad, worked as a chef prior to joining the army. He used that talent to help others at many various benefits after he retired. For over a year, Ray enjoyed the time spent at the Riverfront Adult Day Center.
On Sept. 9, 1954, he was united in marriage to the former Mary C. Motyka. They recently celebrated their fifty third anniversary.
In addition to his beloved wife, his loving family includes his daughter Catherine and her husband Steve Coblish of Ballston Lake; brother; Sam Wilma Keosaian of Newport Richey, Fla.; sisters; Helen Romano of Rennesalear, Katherine Andrew McCormik of Newport Richey, Rosie Brownell of Saratoga , Elizabeth Dopp of Newport Richey and Frances Unger of Porters Corners; brother in law, William Sandy Motyka and sister in law Stasia Leo Dopp all of Amsterdam and many nieces and nephews. Ray was predeceased by his infant children, Patricia, Ricky and Michael, as well as sisters, Elsie Walsh and Virginia Chakmakian.
Services are Thursday at 8:15 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by a Funeral Mass which will ffered by Fr. Pascal Iannotti at 9:00 am at St. Stanislaus? Church. Interment is in St. Stanislaus? Cemetery with military honors. Calling hours are Wednesday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home where Post 701 will conduct a service at 6:30 pm. Contributions may be made in his memory to the Guiding Eyes For The Blind, in care of the funeral home office.
