Obituary of Ann Urban Patterson
Mrs. Ann Urban Patterson, age 95 of Gloversville, died Saturday morning, September 29, 2007 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville.
She was born January 6, 1912 in Schenectady, NY, the daughter of the late John and Suzanne Orbacz Urban. A 1929 graduate of Knott Terrace High School in Schenectady, she also graduated from the Nathan Littauer Hospital School of Nursing in Gloversville in 1932. She moved to Johnstown following graduation, and resided in Gloversville since 1967. Ann worked as a Registered Nurse at the Johnstown Hospital, later at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville and also performed private duty nursing for many years.
Mrs. Patterson was a member of First Free Methodist Church, the Nathan Littauer Hospital Alumni Association and a was former member of the Ida McGinnis Senior Citizens Club, all of Gloversville.
Ann was married on September 10, 1931 to Donald W. Patterson who died November 8, 1980. She later married Everett J.C. Harnish on February 6, 1991 who died May 8, 1998. She is survived by two daughters, Carol Ann Porter Ronaldof Ganesvoort and Susan M. Wilson Lawrence of Northville; her daughter-in-law, Patricia Patterson of Virginia Beach, VA; a brother, Fred Urban of Schenectady; a sister, Sadie Seibert of Schenectady; six grandchildren, Eric Porter Joyce of Saratoga, Laura Wilson Strober Michael of Chappaqua, Jill Porter McEvoy Brian of Saratoga, Lynsay Wilson of Fort Johnson, Don Jay Patterson, Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA and Melanie Patterson of Virginia Beach, VA; six great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by a son, Don Jay Patterson; a brother, Henry Urban; and three sisters, Lillian Groncki, Genevieve Kazmar and Helen Urban.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 10 to 11 am Tuesday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a funeral service will follow at 11 am with the Rev. Alan C. Witter officiating. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the First Free Methodist Church, 1200 County Hwy 122, Gloversville, NY 12078.
