Obituary of Phyllis Perkins

Phyllis Perkins of Gloversville, New York passed away on January 11, 2017 in Albany, New York at the age of 73. Phyllis is survived by her son, Jeff Getman (Tracey), three grandchildren: Maddie, Hannah, and Nate, and two nieces, Kelly and Kerry Bourk. She is predeceased by her parents, Betty and Howard Perkins and her sister, Barbara Carknard. Phyllis was born on April 18, 1943 in Gloversville, New York. She graduated as valedictorian from Mayfield High School in 1961. She briefly attended SUNY Oneonta. She spent the majority of her career working at Fulton Montgomery Community College in the Business Office. Phyllis loved to read, laugh, and play practical jokes. She possessed an infectious personality that people were naturally drawn to and took care of her family unconditionally, with love and support. Phyllis truly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and watching them grow and enjoy life. A celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 2:00pm at Patricia's Restaurant, 32 S. Perry St; Johnstown, NY. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Phyllis's life. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Phyllis's name to the Fulton-Montgomery Foundation at 2805 State Highway 67, Johnstown, NY 12095. Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville.
