Obituary of Harry E. Meyer

Harry ?Boss? E. Meyer, 71, of Abraham Road, passed away Wednesday evening at the Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility in Amsterdam. Born January 12, 1936 in Amsterdam, New York, he was the son of the late Edward and Mary A. Abraham Meyer. He attended Amsterdam schools. Boss owned and operated his own dairy farm on Abraham Road for a number of years and later worked for Terleckey Brothers for 35 years retiring in 2001. He was a member of the St. Luke?s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Amsterdam. Boss loved being out on his tractor. Survivors include two sons, Edward Meyer and his wife Cissy of Amsterdam and Dale Meyer of Amsterdam; a brother, Albert ?Bucky? Meyer of Gloversville; two sisters, Linda Gieseler and her husband Charles of Amsterdam and Arlene Ogden and her husband Merlin of Amsterdam; five grandchildren, Amanda, Rebecca, Heather, Jason and Johanna all of Amsterdam; two step- grandchildren, Jason and Eve of Amsterdam;One Great granddaughter, Julliana; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2007, at 2:00 PM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY with the Rev. Dr. John Califano officiating. Burial will take place at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Tribes Hill, NY. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Boss?s memory to the Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility, 4988, Route 30, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
