Obituary of Anna V. M. Hessek

Anna V. M. Hessek, 97 years old, of Waite Road, Amsterdam, N.Y., died Thursday at St. Mary?s Hospital in Amsterdam. She was born February 14, 1910 in NYC, the daughter of Cornelius and Dellia Connelly McEntee. Mrs. Hessek moved to Floral Park in 1963 where she resided until 2003 when she moved to Amsterdam. She was employed as a telephone operator with the NY Telephone Co. until her retirement in 1973. Mrs. Hessek then went back to work at the Danish Maid Bakery in New Hyde Park for several years. She was predeceased by her two husbands: John J. Elder and Mark P. Hessek; and her son: Robert G Elder. Mrs. Hessek is survived by her daughter: Diana Elder of Amsterdam; 6 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 8:30am Wednesday at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, followed at 9:15am by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Traditional committal prayers will take place at 1:30pm Thursday, at Pinelawn Cemetery, Farmingdale, Long Island. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 6 until 8:00pm at the funeral home.
