Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Veeder

Mary Elizabeth Veeder, 64, of Gifford?s Church Road, Rotterdam, passed away peacefully Monday morning at her home with her family at her side. Born in Gloversville on July 6, 1943, she was the daughter of the late John Konrad and Irene Brothers Frohn. She lived in Fonda for many years and was a graduate of Fonda Fultonville High School Class of 1961. A homemaker, Mary worked as a secretary for JR & Sons Waste Management of Rotterdam as well as in the same capacity for Benson & Malone in Averill Park and EWI Waste Services in Menands, retiring ten years ago. She loved to travel, spending many happy times in Florida. She loved to sew and read and was a member of the Family Motor Home Association. Mary?s greatest love was simply being with her family. On October 28, 1961, she was united in marriage to Deline Veeder in Fonda. In addition to her beloved husband, she leaves her children, Craig Diane Veeder of Schenectady, Mary Ed Geno and Donna Mike Parris all of Edgewater, Florida; grandchildren, Shannon Kris, Eddie, Elizabeth, Donnie, D.J., Craig and Carly; her great grandson, Kaleb; nieces, nephews and cousins. Her sister, Ede MacPhail predeceased her. Services are Friday at 11:00 am at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville with the Rev. Christopher DeGraaf, officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Schenectady or the American Cancer Society.
