Obituary of Thomas Alfred Blood
Thomas Alfred Blood Sr. On November 4, 2007, Thomas Tom Alfred Blood Sr. 61, passed away after a brief illness in Orlando, Fla.
Tom was born on February 5, 1946 to his proud parents Floyd and Margaret Blood. He was predeceased by both of his loving parents.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Nancy Constantine Blood. Two sons survive him: Thomas Alfred Blood Jr. of Orlando, Fl., Jason Celeste Blood of Orlando, Fl. and his daughter Jessica Blood of Orlando, Fl .
Tom leaves behind four grandchildren: Ashley Blood of Amsterdam, NY,
Zoie Petty of Orlando, FL, Lila Blood of Orlando, Fl. and Michael Thomas Blood of Amsterdam, NY. Tom was a devoted grandfather, his grandchildren called him ?Papa?.
Tom leaves behind his loving family: Dr. George Herring and Martin Blood of Oakland, CA, and Robert Herring of Saratoga, NY. Patricia Blood of Albany, NY, Margaret Beekman of Amsterdam, NY, Beatrice K. Blood and Charlene Blood-Ellison of Schenectady, NY. His brothers Charles Herring and Dr. Paul W. Blood Herring predeceased him. His Uncle Henry Blood Sr. of Dayton, OH, and his aunts also survive Tom: Anna Crossley of Lawrenceville, GA. and Catherine Daniels of Amsterdam, NY.
Tom also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews and friends. Tom graduated in 1964 from Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam, NY. After graduation, he enlisted in the Navy during the Vietnam War and served for four years.
After his tour of duty, Tom returned to Amsterdam, NY. He worked at Coleco for many years and then worked in the maintenance department at FMCC until retiring in February, 2005. He worked at Sea World in Orlando, FL. until his death. He spent the last two and a half years with his family in Orlando, FL. Tom was a devoted family man and loved his children and grandchildren. Tom was an avid sports fan. He has always been a fan of the Giants-?Big Blue.? He never gave up on the Dodgers even after they moved to LA. Tom spent the last 16 years ministering and preaching the words of Jesus Christ at the First Apostolic Church in Ft. Johnson, NY and then at Cypress Grove Fellowship in Orlando, FL. Tom?s teachings to the youth was to stay in the Church and to know Jesus.
Family and friends are invited to come and celebrate the life of Tom at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave. Amsterdam, NY .
On Sunday, November 11, 2007 at 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a Youth Group Fund in care of Betz, Rossi, Bellinger Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave. Amsterdam, NY 12010.
