Obituary of James R. Ratajczak

James R. Ratajczak 46, of County Highway 126, Amsterdam, passed away Friday morning at the Mountain Valley Hospice Home in Gloversville. His loving family was at his side. Born in Amsterdam on August 12, 1961, he was the son of Robert and Joan Liston Ratajczak. He was a 1979 graduate of Broadalbin Central School and later Fulton Montgomery Community College. Jim worked for P&C Food Market for nine years, and for the past nineteen years by the US Postal Service. He was a clerk at the New Karner Road branch in Colonie. Jim was always known as a dedicated worker and was devoted to his family. He was a parishioner of St. Mary?s Roman Catholic Church. His beloved wife, the former Sandra Burdette predeceased him on October 31, 2005. They had one son, James R. Ratajczak Jr., who survives. His father, Robert Ratajczak passed away earlier this year, on January 30th. Jim also leaves his mother, Joan Ratajczak of Amsterdam; brother; Steven R. Ratajczak of Amsterdam ;his step mother; Linda Ratajczak of Amsterdam; step sister; Donna Hamilton of Broadalbin, and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Services are Tuesday at 8:30 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by the Mass Of Christian Burial at 9:15 am at St. Mary?s Church. Interment is in the parish cemetery. Calling hours are Monday evening from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home office.
