Obituary of Ann C. Kutchis
Ann C. Kutchis 94, of East Main Street, passed away Sunday morning at her home with her daughter at her side.
Born in Dekalb, Ill. On March 8, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Simon and Agatha Chesnelis and came to Amsterdam as a child.
Ann worked for a number of years by the State Of New York Parole Department as a statistics clerk until she retired in 1981. She was an active parishioner of St. Casimir?s Roman Catholic Church singing with the former St. Cecilia Choir. She was also a member of the Living Rosary Society and St. Casimir?s Ladies Auxiliary. Ann enjoyed excellent health her entire life and loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. She especially loved to complete crossword puzzles.
She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Kutchis whom she married on August 5, 1934 and a sister, Sophie Chesnelis.
She leaves her beloved daughter and best friend, Virginia ?Ginny? Kutchis of Amsterdam; a niece, Norma Hardies; a nephew, Raymond Wassel and cousins, Edward and Leona Zakarka and family.
Services are Wednesday at 11:30 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by the Funeral Mass at 12 noon at St. Casimir?s Church. Fr. David Mickiewicz , celebrant. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. A calling hour will precede the service at 10:30 am. Contributions may be made in Ann?s memory to the Cemetery Fund of St. Casimir?s or Community Hospice Of Amsterdam, both in care of the funeral home office.
