Obituary of Shirley Jaszczurski
Shirley Jaszczurski 82, of the Stratton Apartments, Division Street, passed away Wednesday morning at her home.
Born in Amsterdam on July 1, 1925, she was the only child of Luke C. and Lillian Osterhoudt Greene. A graduate of the Wilbur H. Lynch High School Class of 1944, Shirley lived here her entire life. She was employed as a clerk for the Hosner Motor Car Company until she retired. Shirley was devoted to her church, St. Luke?s Evangelical Lutheran, where she was a member of it?s Faithful Followers and the Altar Guild. She was responsible for the organization of the Sunday greeters at the church. She was also a member of the Polish American Veteran?s Auxiliary and the Broadalbin VFW Auxiliary. She was married to Frank J. Dybas who passed away in 1981. Shirley married Eugene A. Jaszczurski in 1984 and he predeceased her on January 8, 2006.
A loving wife and mother, Shirley is survived by her dear son Curtis D. Dybas and his wife Cheryl of Lake George; her loving grandchildren; Matthew and his wife Heidi Dybas and Todd Dybas; her great grandchildren Olivia and Colleen, cousins as well as the extended members of the Dybas family and her dear friend Jennie Zawisza.
Services are Friday today at 2:00 pm at St. Luke?s Church. The Rev. Dr. John A. Califano officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. A calling period will take place from 11:00 am until 1:30pm today at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue where the Faithful Followers will meet at 12 noon to conduct a service for their departed sister. Contributions may be made to St. Luke?s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 24 Pine St. Amsterdam.
