Obituary of Jacqueline Q. Firth

Jacqueline Q. Firth, 80, of Willow Valley Square, Lancaster, PA formerly a resident of Amsterdam, NY passed away Thursday November 15, 2007 at The Glen at Willow Valley Square Skilled Nursing Facility in Lancaster, PA. Born in Amsterdam, NY on November 1, 1927 a daughter of Clarence and Hazel Schwenker Quist. She was a Graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam. She went on to receive her Bachelor?s Degree in Chemistry at the University of Rochester in 1949. She then received her Masters Degree in Education from Wagner College. Mrs. Firth worked for a short time as a School Teacher for the New York City Board of Education in Staten Island N.Y. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert A. Firth on July 9, 1949. He passed away in October of 1980. Jacqueline is survived by one son, Paul B. Firth of Tampa, FL. One daughter, Pamela F. Hunter James L. of Corning, NY. Six grandchildren, Margaret L. Hunter, Katherine H. Flournoy, Robyn G., Dayna J., Logan D. and Carson G. Firth. One aunt, Gaenor Greissing of Olympia, Washington. Her dear lifelong friend Dorothy Kindt of Scotia, NY Cousins also survive. Services will be held on Sunday, November 18, 2007 at 11:00A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday November 18, 2007 prior to the service beginning at 10:00A.M at the funeral home.
