Obituary of Vincent A. Condello

Vincent A. Condello, 83, of Division Street, Amsterdam, passed away Tuesday morning at the Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility with his loving family at his side. He was born April 17, 1924 in Amsterdam, New York and was the son of the late Anthony and Mary Puglisi Condello. He has been a life long resident of Amsterdam and was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School. Vince was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran of WWII serving in the Philippines. He was a produce manager for the A&P Market in East Greenbush for a number of years until retiring in 1980. Vince was well known throughout the northeast as a homing pigeon breeder and racer twice voted All American in that field. Vince loved to dance throughout his life and during his youth was known as ?Jitterbug?. On May 5, 1946 he married the former Christine Coluni. Besides his wife he is survived by his two sons, John A. Antoinette Condello of Rocky Face, Georgia and Anthony M. Patricia Condello of Amsterdam; two daughters, Mary Jo Lee Anderson of Amsterdam and Patricia C. Tobin of San Jose, California; a sister, Bea Pasicznyk of Amsterdam; a sister-in-law Sarah Condello; seven grandchildren Tricia, Christina, Michael, Maria, Leanna, Nicolle and Anthony, Jr. ; three great grandchildren Zachary, Claire and Emily; nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Vince was predeceased by a brother George Condello. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 10:15 am at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 11:15 am at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic, Grove Street, Amsterdam, with full military honors to follow. Burial will take place in St. Michael?s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday November 23, 2007 from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home.
