Obituary of Joseph F. Biviano
Joseph F. Biviano 73, formerly of Eagle Street, passed away Sunday morning at the Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility after a lengthy illness.
Born in Amsterdam on April 19, 1934, he was the son of Anthony and Nancy Constantino Biviano. A graduate of St. Mary?s Institiute Class of 1952, he entered the US Air Force in 1953. Joe was stationed in Nagoya Japan from 1954 to 1957 as an airman 1st class with the 20th Weather Squadron. In 1961, he graduated Summa Cum Laude from Siena College with a degree in economics. He then began a long career in the liquor industry with the Joseph Seagrams & Sons in New York City. He was later promoted to the position of Western Manager for the Calvert division of Seagrams in Connecticut, followed by positions as Delaware state manager and western New York manager for Calvert?s. Following his retirement in 1993, he returned to Amsterdam where he has since resided.
He was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and a member of the Columbian Social Club.
He is survived by a daughter Nanci Ann Biviano of Roanoake, Va.; a brother, Anthony Frances Biviano of Amsterdam; and a granddaughter Kelsey Ann Biviano as well as two loving nieces, Angela Neuls and Michele Farley both of Amsterdam; and a nephew, Anthony M. Biviano of Saratoga Springs, and several cousins.
In addition to his parents, Joe was predeceased by his daughter Danielle Karas, a grandson Alex Karas, USMC of Buffalo, and infant sister Maria and brother Joseph Biviano.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass Of Christian Burial which will be celebrated by Fr. Lawrence J. Decker on Wednesday at 9:15 am at St. Michael The Archangel Church, Grove Street. Interment will follow in St. Michael?s Cemetery. It was Joe?s request that there be no calling hours and that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Michael?s Memorial Fund PO Box 699 Amsterdam 12010.
