Obituary of Freida Raphael

Mrs. Frieda Raphael, 94 years old, formerly of Amsterdam, died Wednesday evening at The Health Center of Merritt Island in Florida. Mrs. Raphael was born May 20, 1913 in Gloversville, New York, a daughter of Samuel and Esther Ziller and was a graduate of Gloversville High School. She resided in Amsterdam most of her adult life. Frieda was married to Morton Raphael. He died in September of 1976. Mrs. Raphael was a member of Congregation Sons of Israel Synagogue in Amsterdam, its Sisterhood and Hadassah. Survivors include her son Ronald L. Shaney Raphael of Cocoa, Florida; two daughters Leah Tim Raphael Underwood of San Rafael, California and Lois Raphael of Gaithersburg, Maryland; her sister Ruth Carol of Schenectady, NY; two grandchildren, Leslie Sanchez of Meridian, Idaho, Cori Pribyl of Orlando, Florida; four great grandchildren, Philip and Meriya Sanchez, Jonathon and Jack Pribyl; two step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held 11:00am Sunday at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, with Rabbi Martin Gordon officiating. Burial is in Congregation Sons of Israel Cemetery, Cranesville. There will be no calling or visitation period prior to the service.
