Obituary of Nicholas DiMattia

Nicholas DiMattia, age 17 of Broadalbin, died suddenly on Friday, December 21, 2007 in Broadalbin. He was born August 1, 1990 in Gloversville, the son of Frank and Tiena LaPrairie DiMattia. He attended Johnstown schools through ninth grade, and then transferred to Broadalbin-Perth High School where he was a member of the Senior Class at the time of his death. Nick enjoyed playing LaCrosse and music. He also liked snow-boarding, motorcycles, four-wheelers, electronics, sound systems and computers. He had worked at Wildfire Pizza in Broadalbin and at the concession stand at Shuttleworth Park in Amsterdam. Nick was currently employed at Mr. Pizza in Mayfield. He is survived by his mother, Tiena DiMattia Bill Kline of Broadalbin; his father, Frank DiMattia of Johnstown; his paternal grandparents, Ezio and Angela DiMattia of Florida; his maternal grandmother, Lorraine Dumond of Glens Falls; and his maternal grandfather, Douglas Olden of Connecticut. Also surviving are his seven siblings, Austin DiMattia of Johnstown, Andrew Kline, William Kline, Alexandra Eagan, Michaela Eagan and Sara Kline of Broadalbin, and Heather Kline of Georgia; several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Frank DiMattia, Jr. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 8 pm Wednesday at Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home, 85 W. Main St; Broadalbin. A funeral service will be held at 11 am Thursday at Perth Bible Church, Perth. Interment will take place in the spring at Broadalbin Mayfield Rural Cemetery, Broadalbin. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Nicholas DiMattia Memorial Scholarship Fund; c/o Broadalbin Perth Central School District; 20 Pine St; Broadalbin, NY 12025.
