Obituary of Leonard J. Schotts
Leonard J. Schotts, 59, of Romeyn Ave, Amsterdam, died unexpectedly Thursday December 27, 2007 at his home.
Born in Amsterdam on December 16, 1948 a son of Benjamin and Mary Schotts. He was lifelong area resident and attended local schools.
Mr. Schotts was a retired 20 year veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War. He worked at the Gloversville Armory and Utica Armory as a Supply Sergeant for several years. He was a member of the John J. Wyszomirski Post #701 in Amsterdam and was of the Roman Catholic Faith.
He married Sarah Nethaway Schotts on August 5th, 1984. In addition to his wife survivor?s include, One son, Brian Schotts of Amsterdam. Two daughters, Jennifer Schotts and Marilee Serafin both of Amsterdam. One brother, Benjamin Schotts and one sister, Anella Schotts Trzaskos. He was recently predeceased by a niece, Trinity Trzaskos. Cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 2, 2008 at 11:00A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam with Father Pascal ?Pat? Iannotti presiding. Inurnment will be in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY with full military honors. There are no calling hours.
