Obituary of Vernon A. Richardson

Mr. Vernon A. Richardson, 45, of Gloversville, died suddenly on Sunday, December 30, 2007. Mr. Richardson was born April 27, 1962 in Gloversville, son of Phyllis Flansburg Richardson and the late George Richardson, Jr. He was educated in Gloversville schools and employed as a splitter for Hohenforst Leather. A former Boy Scout and an avid outdoorsman, Vernon enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He also enjoyed working on the internet daily. In addition to his mother, of Gloversville, he is survived by his wife, Lynn Mead Richardson of Gloversville and a daughter, Theresa Richardson of Lebanon, Indiana. He is also survived by a sister, Susan Gannon of Gloversville and three brothers, George Richardson III and Roger Richardson both of N. Ft. Myers, Florida and Robert Richardson, Sr. of Gloversville. Two half-sisters also survive, Holly Holland Barker and Heidi Holland both of Gloversville. He is survived also by two grandchildren, Michael and Augusta and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Richardson was pre-deceased by two sisters, Rosemary and Darlene Richardson, and a brother, Glenn A. Richardson. A funeral service will take place at 12 noon on Thursday from the Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville with Reverend R.W. Williams officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 11 am to 12 noon prior to the service. Urn burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda, in the spring. Contributions in his memory may be made to a charity of choice.
