Obituary of Joseph Fagiani

Mr. Joseph Fagiani, age 88 of Gloversville, died Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility, Gloversville. He was born November 4, 1919 in Gloversville, the son of the late Joseph and Clara Fagiani. A graduate of Gloversville High School, Joe later served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II. He was employed by General Electric Company in Schenectady for many years until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of Saint Mary of Mount Carmel Church, Gloversville. Joe was married to Dorothy Grant who died in 1986. He is survived by his companion of many years, Millie Cataffo of Gloversville; also by three nephews, Joseph Blaha Lea of Northville, David Fagiani Sandy and Thomas J. Fagiani Sharon of Gloversville; a grandniece, Joli Blaha of Buffalo and a grandnephew, Michael Blaha of Gloversville. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Theresa Jean Blaha, Lena Fagiani and Mary Fagiani; and a brother, Thomas Fagiani. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Thursday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a prayer service will be conducted 9:15 am Friday, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, Gloversville. The Very Rev. Donald Czelusniak will be the celebrant. Interment will take place in the spring at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown.
