Obituary of Barbara J. Barker

Mrs. Barbara J. Barker, 60, of State Highway 80, Ft. Plain passed away peacefully Thursday, January 31, 2008 at St. MaryÂ?s Hospital in Amsterdam. Born on May 19, 1947 in Cooperstown, NY she was the daughter of the late Edward and Joanne Brado. Barbara was a lifelong area resident and made her home with her husband in Ft. Plain. She loved her family dearly, and cherished her grandchildren. She enjoyed bird watching, cooking, loved animals, and was an avid reader. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Her loving family includes, her husband, Robert Barker, who she married on September 7, 1963; her two children, Todd Barker and his wife Mary of Johnstown, NY and Kim Bernier and her husband Daniel of Ft. Plain, NY; one sister, Cathy Brado of West Winfield, NY; six grandchildren, Kenddra, Tiana, Daniel, Gage, Brandon, and Xander. She is also survived by special friends, Sherry Kneaskearn and Albert and Debbie Doyle. She was preceded in death by three children, Robert Jr., Jeremy and Daniel Barker. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, February 4, 2008 at 1p.m. at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY. Interment will take place in the spring, in Ingham Mills Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday afternoon from 2 until 5 at the funeral home.
