Obituary of Gladys E. Eagan
Mrs. Gladys E. Eagan, age 90 Gloversville, died peacefully on Wednesday morning, February 13, 2008 at the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility, Gloversville.
She was born January 6, 1918 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Albert and Reba Brooks Scott. Gladys was employed by Garfal Coat Company in Johnstown for many years, as well as several other local companies. She was a member of St. John's Roman Catholic Church, Newport, also the Johnstown Women of the Moose, Gloversville VFW Auxiliary and the former Court Mayflower of Gloversville.
Gladys was married on March 4, 1938 to Walter L. Eagan who died October 3, 1981. Survivors include seven children, Carol Eagan and Mary Ann Hayes of Gloversville, Sheila D'Onofrio of Poland, NY; Sharon Colson and Richrd Eagan of Gloversville, Paul Eagan of Lowville and Timothy Eagan of Gloversville; a sister, Joan Rockwell of Mayfield; 30 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sons James Eagan, Charles Eagan and Bruce Eagan; her brothers Roger Scottand Philip Johnson; and sisters Laura Matiasovic and Shirley Farnsworth.
Private burial will take place in the spring at the convenience of the family at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown. There will be no calling hours or services.
