Obituary of Rose Prill

Rose Prill, 99, formerly of Milton Avenue, resident of the Mt. Loretto Nursing Home, passed away Friday morning at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam. She was born August 30, 1908 in Amsterdam, New York; she was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary Skondienski Wisniewski. Rose was a life long Amsterdam resident. She was employed as a rug cutter by the Bigelow- Sanford Carpet Mills in Amsterdam for 40 years until retiring in 1955. Rose was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. On July 17, 1937 she married Joseph Prill who died December 8, 1981. She was also predeceased by a son Robert Prill who passed away in 1983. Survivors include five grandchildren in California. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2008, at 9:30 am at the St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, 73 Reid Street, Amsterdam with the Rev. David Mickiewicz as Celebrant. There will be no calling hours. Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery in Amsterdam. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Rose's memory to the Mt. Loretto Nursing home, 302 Swart Hill Road, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
