Obituary of Lottie E. Traider

Lottie E. Traider, 88, of the High Rise Apartments, Wall Street Amsterdam, passed away Saturday morning at her home. Born in Amsterdam on Dec. 11, 1919, she was the daughter of Floyd and Lottie Wood Engle. Following her mother's early death, Lottie was raised by Charles and Anna Mae Barlow. She retired in 1981 after a long career with the State Bank Of Albany. She made her home on Galway lake, Saratoga Springs and Amsterdam. Lottie loved to travel, often recalling her trips to Africa, Europe and the Grand Canyon. She was a sustaining member of the Amsterdam Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and a life member of the Albany Chapter of the American Institute Of Banking. In earlier years, Lottie was a den mother for the Cub Scouts. She was a member of the West Charlton Presbyterian Church. Her husband, Edward Traider predeceased her in 1967, and she also lost a brother, Howard Engle. Her loving family includes her sons; Peter and his wife Donna Traider of Round lake, and Richard and his wife Kim Traider of Charlton; grandchildren; Michael Sarah Traider, Diane Traider, Michele Traider, Gary Tami LaQue, Paul Diane Traider, Mark and Kevin Traider; several great grandchildren. A service of remembrance will take place Wednesday afternoon at 2:00pm at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. The Rev. Thomas A. Gregg, officiating. Interment is in St. Stanislaus' Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Contributions may be made to the West Charlton Presbyterian Church, 1331 Sacandaga Rd. Amsterdam or the Amsterdam Free Library, Church Street, Amsterdam 12010.
