Obituary of Lena B. Engel

Lena B. "Jablonski" Engel, 82, of Union Mills Rd., died Sunday March 16, 2008 at her home. Born in Galway, NY on December 29, 1925 a daughter of Walter and Lucy Sherman Smith. She was a lifelong area resident and attended local schools. Mrs. Engel was a homemaker. She was a noted gardener and many people enjoyed the benefit of her passion. She also taught many people to knit and crochet. Lena also was an avid reader and loved to travel. Her family was always her first priority. She married Francis Paul Jablonski he died on July 4, 1983. She later married William Engel in 1987, he passed away on February 8, 2007. Mrs. Engel is survived by one son, Gary F. Jablonski Sr. of Amsterdam and one daughter, Susan A. Tolson of Amsterdam. Three grandchildren, Peter J. Tolson and his wife Jeanette, Renee L. Jablonski and Gary F. "Bucky" Jablonski, Jr. Two great-grandchildren, Karly and Olivia Tolson. She was predeceased by one brother, Walter Smith Jr. Funeral services will be held Thursday March 20, 2008 at 12:00 Noon at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam with The Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams presiding. Interment will be in the spring in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Hagaman, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday evening March 19, 2008 from 5:00 to 8:00P.M. at the funeral home.
