Obituary of Joan A. Richards

Joan A. Richards, 69, of Galway passed away Monday March 17, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam. She was born in Pawling, NY on June 17, 1938 to the late George and Josephine Beatrice Roberts Loucks. Joan enjoyed working at Coleco. She also loved traveling, shopping, flowers, going to casinos, playing scratch-off lottery tickets and most of all her grandchildren. Survivors include her son Mark Richards and his wife Darla of Broadalbin; her daughter Trudy Gundersen and husband Thomas of Jacksonville, FL; a sister Betty Ceasrine of Johnstown; nine grandchildren: Roberta, Chrissy, Mike, Trish, Ashley, Brent, Brie, Melissa and Jason; ten great-grandchildren and a nephew. Joan's husband, Frederick L. Richards, predeceased her on October 18, 2004. She is also predeceased by a son Glenn Loucks and a brother George Loucks. There will be no visitation. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Pawling, NY. Donations may be made in Joan's memory to Hospice of Amsterdam, 246 Manny's Corners Road, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Arrangements are with the Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home in Broadalbin.
