Obituary of Harry M. Hodge
Mr. Harry M. Hodge, 63, formerly of St. Johnsville, New York, passed away at his home in Florida Easter Sunday, March 23, following a brief illness. Born on May 13, 1944 in Amsterdam, New York he was the son of the late Millard and Marguerite Hazzard Lohmeyer Hodge and was a graduate of Fonda- Fultonville Central School.
A lifelong area resident he was employed as a truck driver for Burrows Paper Mill in Little Falls, New York for over 20 years. He served with the St. Johnsville Volunteer Fire Department and was an EMT with the Ambulance Corp. He also was an active member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepard in Canajoharie and was a Scout Master.
On July 20, 1974 he was united in marriage to the former Shirlee Walrath. Together they raised a beautiful family and in 1998 moved to Florida to enjoy retirement.
His loving family includes, his wife Shirlee; his children, Dennis Hodge, David Hodge, Charles Schaff, Brian Schaff and Susan Hazzard; siblings, Donald Hodge, Helen Burke and Hazel Putman; nine grandchildren, Daniel, Jason, Samantha and Jeremy Hazzard, Joshua, Alyssa and Haylee Schaff, Amber and Christopher Hodge; two great grandchildren, Tyler and Brianna Hazzard; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
The Office for the Burial of The Dead will be read and Holy Eucharist offered on Friday, April 4, 2008 at 11 o'clock at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepard, Moyer Street, Canajoharie N.Y with the Rev. Amanda Nichols as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Fort Plain Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Organization of choice.
