Obituary of Monserrate Rosado
Monserrate Rosado, 88, of Vanderveer St., Amsterdam, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 27, 2008 at his home.
He was born in Jayuya, Puerto Rico on February 14, 1920. He came to the Bronx, NY as a young child and lived there for many years. He was self employed while working in the Bronx in various capacities. Mr. Rosado came to the Amsterdam area following his retirement.
He was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. He enjoyed being around his children and family when he could. He is survived by six sons: Domingo Gonzalez, Narciso Gonzalez, Rodolfo Gonzalez, Roberto Gonzalez, Jose Gonzalez and Luis Gonzalez and three daughters: Carmen Gonzalez, Gladis Gonzalez and Iris M. Rivera Gonzalez.
Many grandchildren, great grandchildren and cousins also survive. He was predeceased by his three uncles in Puerto Rico.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 31, 2008 at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:15 A.M. at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, Grove St., Amsterdam, NY with Father Jun Segura as celebrant. Calling hours are Sunday from 2 to 5pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Amsterdam.
