Obituary of Veronica Kaszuba
Veronica Kaszuba, 88, of East Main Street, passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon at St. Mary's Hospital, with her loved ones at her side.
Born in Amsterdam on March 20, 1920, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Saldis Palilonis. Educated locally, she lived here her entire life. Veronica worked for Mohawk carpets as a crealer for a number of years before retiring. Her faith was very strong and she was an active parishioner of St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church her entire life. She was a member of its Living Rosary Society, the Ladies Auxiliary and seniors group. At one time, she was a member of the Columbiettes and Club 60.
A loving mother, Veronica was a kind and gentle woman who was very fortunate to have many friends. Her family is very appreciative for how they continued to keep in touch with her.
On July 9, 1950 she was united in marriage to John J. Kaszuba who predeceased her in 1992. She also lost an infant son, David.
Her loving family includes her daughter, Barbara and her husband Russell J. Terpening of Saratoga Springs; her brother, John J. and his wife Rita Palilonis of Schenectady; dear friend Sandra Frankel Proler and Ron of Saratoga Springs; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Funeral Mass will be offered Monday at 9:30 am at St. Casimir's Church, 260 East Main Street with Fr. David Mickiewicz, celebrant. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Sunday from 1-4 pm at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue. St. Casimir's Ladies Auxiliary will meet at 3:00 pm Sunday for a prayer service. Interment is in St. Casimir's Cemetery. Contributions may be made to St. Casimir's Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.
