Obituary of Joseph S. Bell

Joseph S. Bell, 50, of James Street, Amsterdam died suddenly on Sunday, April 13, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital. Born in Amsterdam on October 22, 1957 he was the son of the late Jose "Pepe" Homs and Marilyn Collins Bell. He was educated in Amsterdam and was a lifelong resident. Joseph was employed for the Fownes Glove Company and was of the Roman Catholic faith. He was an avid bowler and proud of his perfect games. Joe also enjoyed watching the Yankees and being with his family. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. His loving family includes his mother, Marilyn Bell, of Amsterdam; his wife, Sandra Kilgore Bell; a daughter, Kerri Lynn Kilgore of Amsterdam; a son, Joseph Kilgore of Amsterdam; four sisters, Diane S. Neahr and Nancy Alvarez, both of Amsterdam, Mabel Homs and Nilda H. Faught, both of Albany; three brothers, Donald R. Bell Jr. of Fonda, Ivan and Jose Homs Jr., both of Amsterdam; four grandchildren, Deanna Wiltey, Jacob Petruccione, Taylor and Floyd Krawczyk Jr.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted Today, April 17, 2008 at 10:15a.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 o'clock at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 156 East Main Street. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery. Calling hours will be held Wednesday night, April 16, 2008, from 6 until 8 o'clock at the funeral home.
