Obituary of Ruthann Gaugler

Ruthann "Bunny" Gaugler died peacefully with her family by her side Monday, April 14, 2008 after a long illness. She was born May 4, 1945 in Allentown, PA the daughter of Earl Haswell and Jeanetta Kresley. She graduated from Catasauqua High School in PA and worked in health care as a nurses' aide at various health care facilities around the country. Bunny moved to the area in 1992 and for the past thirteen years provided child care from her home. She was a devoted Lutheran and was very active at St. James Lutheran Church and a variety of church groups and committees. Bunny is survived by her husband, David P. Gaugler, Sr. of Gloversville, whom she married June 15, 1963; four children: David P. Gaugler, Jr. Janice of Taunton, MA, Kevin W. Gaugler Angela of East Providence, RI, Darleen Gaugler and her companion Pat Carter of Gloversville and Ashley D. Gaugler and his companion Kim of Anna, OH.; four grandchildren: Samantha Walkington, Taylor Gaugler, Zachary Luis and Derrick McGuinness; her stepmother, Janet Reinhart of Northampton, MA; three sisters: Gloria Hidebrand of Supply, NC, Cheryl Loch of Northampton, MA and Karen Bosga of Slatington, PA. She was predeceased by a sister, Sandra Keller. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, April 19 at 1 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church, 521 North Main Street, Gloversville with the Reverend David Almleaf presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bunny's memory to St. James Lutheran Church.
